Welcome to Project Gitameit

In Pali and Burmese "gita" means music, and "meit" means friendship. In the spirit of Gitameit, the Yale Spizzwinks are working with the Gitameit Music Center in Rangoon, Burma to bring a choir to the United States in 2008. It will be the first ever visit of a Burmese choir to the US.
Who is involved?
So far our major supporters are the Yale Spizzwinks, the Yale Spizzwinks Alumni Association, and the Foundation for the People of Burma. But we need your help too! We'll need to purchase plane tickets, set up home-stays, find performance opportunities and secure visas for the performers.
How can I help?
We need to raise a large sum of money, and we also need people to help put together the logistics of a concert tour. There are a number of ways in which you can get involved.
Tell me more!
The Gitameit Music Center is a 4-year-old school and community center in downtown Rangoon. The Yale Spizzwinks are a 94 year-old male a cappella group from Yale University.
